Helping, Caring for Juvenile Offenders
June 16, 2023
Qinghai People's Procuratorate, Qinghai's Education Department, Qinghai Women's Federation, the Qinghai Communist Youth League Committee and Xining Urban Vocational and Technical College recently held a ceremony to announce the establishment of a base dedicated to helping and caring for juvenile offenders. The event was held in Xining, capital of Northwest China's Qinghai Province.
The base, the first of its kind in Qinghai, employs psychologists and social workers, who provide professional training and psychological and behaviormodification counseling to juvenile offenders, aged between 16 and 18. Many workers with the base hope, with their help, the offenders will work hard to return to society, and to repay society and their families for the care and assistance they have received.
Earlier this year, Qinghai People's Procuratorate, Qinghai Provincial Department of Justice, Qinghai Women's Federation and the Qinghai Communist Youth League Committee began providing online courses to minors, to help them better understand laws and regulations, especially those pertaining to the protection of children's legal rights and interests. The organizations' cadres vowed to make greater efforts to strengthen minors' legal protection.
